Terri Bobbitt's Report:
Terri Bobbitt, American Airlines Flight Attendant,
escorted Olwitch from Atlanta back to Haiti

I met Olwitch and his host mom Robin in the Atlanta airport early on March 10th to begin his journey home to Haiti after being away from his family for a year.
Olwitch came to the US when he was six years old to have surgery at the Children's Shriner's Hospital, in SC, for his club feet. His recovery was longer than originally anticipated because of a staff infection on his right foot. Courageous and full of zest for life, Olwitch healed amazingly well and was ready to go home and see his family!! That is where our journey began.

Olwitch made friends where ever we went, laughing and dancing his way into the gate area and onto the airplane. He ventured into the cockpit and congratulated the pilots on
what good drivers they were! He managed to get extra cookies from the flight attendants with the smile that never left his face and the pure joy he had for his little 7 year old life.
I was taught his 'secret hand shake' and his 'special clapping game' that got progressively faster and faster...until I just couldn't keep up which brought us both to hysterical laughter.

He was a true gentleman opening doors for me and helping me with the luggage....and sharing his special treats with anyone who was in his presence. I truly enjoyed spending my day with this amazing young man full of love and joy!!
