New Orleans:
Kirstin Perkins Reports:
I recently took a group of volunteers to
New Orleans to work with the
St. Bernard Project, a non-profit organization rebuilding homes for families displaced by hurricane Katrina.

The organization relies on donations to purchase
building materials and on volunteers to install
them.

Our entire group was shocked at the
devastation in the area and at how
much still needs
to be done there.
The families that we spoke
to and the stories that we heard had
such an impact on us that we left feeling very blessed
that these people allowed us to work on their
homes and inspired us to continue working in the St. Bernard Parish assisting in any way we can.

I will be planning 5 day volunteer trips
to the area every other month and will be
working on other projects as
well.

If you have any questions,
are interested in participating in a
volunteer trip or would like to support one, please let me know and I will make sure to email information to you.
