Disaster Relief
responding to human suffering
AIRLINE AMBASSADORS members were on the scene
when the devastating
Tsunami struck south Asia.
We sent medical and trauma teams in early January as well as supplies and
funding to THAILAND, SRI LANKA, INDIA and INDONESIA on
nine missions and aid deliveries to the affected area.
We were also on the
scene within days after Hurricane Katrina, delivering relief such as clothing,
hygiene supplies, cleaning items, and also providing hope and support
to the families there by providing Thanksgiving dinners and holiday baskets
and a Christmas party.
AAI teams are still traveling on a monthly
basis to the area even helping families clean their homes of mud and filth
still remaining after the hurricane.
When the mudslides hit
GUATEMALA and EL SALVADOR, we were able to send in a planeload
of volunteers and supplies to help, and we even hand delivered blankets
and tents to 1000 families after the devastating earthquake in PAKISTAN.
Tragedies such as those in 2005 made us keenly aware of our fragility as a
human family and of the difference we can make when we bring our
compassion for one another into direct action.
