Story From The Field
Guatemala - Aid Escort Delivery - June 2008
Corlene Horan,
Airline Ambassadors SFO Regional Director, Reports:

LDS hygiene kits reached Guatemala on a June trip that Peg, Cam and I did. We brought 4 non-LDS wheelchairs, 50 lbs of donated school supplies for a school in San Jorge/Panajachel (Mayan Families) and 26 LDS hygiene kits for Vamos Adelante.
We visited Sharon at Mayan Families in Panajachel and distributed wheelchairs and art supplies for the school. While there we donated and installed a couple of Onil stoves, visited an orphanage and some families Mayan Families supports.
Peg Meyer giving a hygiene kit to an "Oldster."
Many families take little care of their old members
and are grateful for the help of Vamos Adelante.
We also did a trip with Nina (Vamos Adelante) These photos are of oldsters in a remote village near Zapote, not accessible by car. Actually, we hiked a total of over 7 hours in and out of the jungle to deliver the kits and observe the nutrition clinic that we support.

Another oldster (Actually she's my age! I'd look like that too,
if I lived there and had a dozen kids!)
Can you tell we had just walked 7 hours?!
We found these ladies on our trek to remote Zapote with Nina. This lady was very happy to get a hygiene kit from Cam who was relieved to give it to after carrying it for miles in his backpack.
Thank you, Corlene and crew, for continuing on-going support and aid to our Guatemala Projects!
