Hi,
My
name is David Kidwell, age 14, and I am a Youth Ambassador for the NGO Airline
Ambassadors International, http://www.airlineamb.org. I am an 8th grade student at
Trinity
School at Meadow View in
Falls Church ,
VA. I have some exciting news about an
International Art Competition open to students of all ages and their
teachers. This will be fun and will help bring attention to one of the
most important global issues facing us today . . . . the lack of fresh, clean
water for everyone around the world. Are you aware that according
to the World Health Organization, last year 1 billion people lacked access to
safe drinking water?
I was recently at the United Nations in
New York City where I
helped launch this International Art Competition for 2008. You will see
some photos and the press release on the following UN web
pages:

The theme for this year is
“Water For All.” In the past there have not been many entries from
students from the United
States . I am hoping that you can help
me change this for 2008. This is a fun challenge and there will be
prizes awarded. If your artwork is chosen, you will get two airline
tickets to the award ceremony in
Madrid ,
Spain . All the details you
need are included on the following web page where the rules are
explained.

If you want to make a difference in our
world today and help bring a cup of clean water to someone in need, I invite
you to enter this international art competition. Use your creativity to
express that our world needs clean water . . . “Water for All.”
Please
share this with your friends, classmates, teachers, religious leaders and
others so that the world will know that students from the
United States
are serious about making a difference in our world.
Thank
you,
David
Kidwell
