Launch 2007 Intl School Awards on the theme of Human Rights.

February the 28, 2007, at 10:30 am, in a press conference at the United Nations, joint sponsors Peace & Cooperation and Airline Ambassadors International will launch their annual International School Awards. The theme this year is on human rights - “My Right to Decide” The presentation will be made by Joaquin Antuña, President and founder of Peace and Cooperation, Nancy L. Rivard, President Airline Ambassadors, Mr. Faustino Diaz , Press Counselor of the Mission of Spain to the UN and Tsidii Le Loka-Lupindo, Advisor to Airline Ambassadors and Broadway Star of the Musical “Lion King”.

Ambassador Barrionuevo of the Permanent Mission of Spain to the United Nations has sponsored this event since 1995. Peace & Cooperation, is an NGO headquartered in Spain accredited to the DPI with Consultative Status with ECOSOC and Airline Ambassadors Int’l, is an NGO headquartered in the United States, also accredited to the DPI with Consultative Status with ECOSOC.

2008 will mark the 60th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Riights. With this in mind we aim to raise awareness in school communities around the world and the population in general about the values of human rights. We encourage schools around the world to form small parliaments in which they can study and debate Human Rights, in order to achieve a world without violence. Airline Ambassadors has partnered with Paz y Cooperacion since 1995 and involved over one million participants in this annual campaign for a better world promoting young people of all ages to reflect upon global issues that affect us all. Award Ceremonies last year took place in the La Real Casa de Correos with Esperanza Aguirre, the President of Madrid, local government Comunidad de Madrid.
