North Pole Fantasy Flight

December 2008:

On December 13th, AAI teamed with American Airlines and the Starlight Foundation to host a holiday Fantasy Flight to the North Pole for 35 children, fighting life threatening illnesses, and their families.

The children gathered at a gate at LAX and were transported on a 757 plane, donated by American Airlines, to

"the North Pole" (the American Airlines Super Bay).

When the group arrived, they were met by Santa (AAI member Dennis Estes) and several elves and helpers.

The children were given toys,  generously donated by Hasbro through the Starlight Foundation, and everyone enjoyed donated goodies and beverages.

Our thanks go to all the volunteers and especially to our planning committee from AAI (Kirstin Perkins, Michelle Campbell, Leela Hansen, Sharon Stein, Dennis Estes),

American Airlines (Peggy Olszewski, Dan Wickey, Frank Campagna, Chandra Luce) and Starlight Foundation

(Mark Ford, Denise Martin).

The event was a huge success and gave these children a memory they will never forget!
