Story From The Field

Haiti

Reverend Dr. Luc Pierre , Airline Ambassadors' Mission Coordinator, Reports

December 2008:

The container has been delivered to Dr. Mesadieu, in Haiti.  Here are the pictures

depicting the receipt of the container, the

inspection by the authorities right at the location of the delivery.

You can also see Dr. Luc Mesadieu's church in Canal-Bois, Gonaives, converted into a distribution center and storage hall, and the items themselves which were taken there.

The next series of pictures will show you some more of the people who actually came to be served.  It was crowded but orderly for the most part.

People had the ability to choose what they liked and what actually fit them.  Not too many children in the line, because

their parents shop for them. There was a diversity of items in the container.

People were so thankful and so excited, seeing that they are not alone in this saga. We have served more than 2,000 people.

In addition, we made several bundles to be sent to about 100 churches to distribute to their own members.

I will be going to Haiti Jan. 22 and returning Jan. 28, the Lord willing.

Most of my time will be spent in Gonaives, where I will be visiting some of the people and churches.

I will be able to see of my own eyes what has been done to help the people cope with the dire situation there. I will also visit the hospital there, and the medical team directed by Dr. Jim Smith. We will provide them with some of the medical supplies that were shipped in the container. Whatever is left will be delivered to other medical clinics there and help maintain a new medical clinic in Canal-Bois itself. I will visit Mapou Chevalier also, and explore the school possibilities and if possible visit a couple of the orphanages in Port-au-Prince.
