Dr. Patch Adams and the clowns return this year to the Belen district at the edge of Iquitos in the floodplain of the Itaya River to work with the Pueblo Libre community. We have collaborated with this destitute community in an ongoing project to improve the health, education, and infrastructure of this riverside settlement. Most residents are extremely poor, lacking clean water and sanitation. In the past, we have brought much needed medical supplies, we have painted almost two-hundred homes, and have initiated programs to assist Belen residents in addressing their own concerns and needs. We plan to clown in hospitals, special needs facilities, hospices, nursing homes, and schools, while painting another hundred homes. It is our hope also to build or renovate a structure as a community center. We will be working very closely with Belen residents during our two weeks. we also will be giving workshops to children, teenagers, and others in health promotion, team building, and the arts. Please read your personal invitation and trip description here!
You must be a current AAI member to participate and submit a $50 registration fee to secure your spot.
